Key Platform:

After speaking with residents and business owners in our city, it has become clear that my focus needs to be on that of Transparency in both our budget and projects. With 4 major projects occurring in Norwalk right now, many residents are unaware that that many are even in the works. We need to find ways to better communicate with our community so that no one is surprised about projects and future issues. Some ways to improve selected ideas are as followed:

• A clear, user friendly report for residents to understand the change in the budget.

• An updated website with a clearer interface for easier use of access for businesses, residents, and visitors.

• Regularly updated and accessible guide to projects in the works.

Having better transparency of our budget helps put proper focus on the other issues in our city such as homelessness and traffic. But we can’t fix that unless we know where the underlying issues are first. Every resident should be able to quickly, and reliably find updates to our city.
